What are Veneers?
Dental veneers can also be known as porcelain veneers or dental porcelain laminates. They are wafer-thin, custom-made external casings of tooth-colored materials. These are specifically designed to cover the front surface of teeth toimprove their physical appearance. These casings are permanently attached to the front of the teeth, which in turn changes their shade, shape, length, and/or size.
What are the advantages of veneers?
The most significant advantage to having veneers is that they make teeth look natural and healthy. Because they are made of fragile material and are held in place by a strong adhesive, very little prep work of the tooth is needed. Some specific types of veneers don’t need any preparation at all.
How Long Will It Take?
A veneer takes at least two visits. The first visit is done to prep the tooth area (if necessary) and matches the shade to your natural teeth, or your desired shade, and the second is to fit it. Before adhering it in place, Dr. Collins here at Diamond Dental will show you the veneer on your tooth to make sure you are pleased with it. Bonding a veneer in place is done with a unique adhesive, which holds it firmly on the tooth.
The team here at Diamond Dental will make sure that you have the exact shape, color, size, and look that you want in your veneers during the process.
